A special 30-minute program airs June 13-17

HONG KONG, June 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- In a special 30-minute program, CNN's 'Click Culture' examines Thailand's grand ambitions to become a technology hub for the region. CNN International anchor and correspondent Kristie Lu Stout takes the pulse of Thai tech to find the pressure points, as well as the unique opportunities for both local and foreign tech entrepreneurs and investors. CNN hears from tech experts and visits tech-centric locations, like Hubba, a co-working space, and True Digital Park, a newly-opened one-stop shop for high-tech, to find out where Thailand is going next.

CNN also takes a close look at e-commerce, a booming industry across Southeast Asia, which experts forecast will grow from $23 billion in 2018 to exceed $100 billion in 2025. CNN meets two of the biggest players in Thai e-commerce that have expanded well beyond the country's borders to penetrate the region. aCommerce is one of Thailand's most successful startups and Pomelo, originally an online fashion store, has started opening physical locations. Both companies are riding the online shopping wave, weathering the unique challenges in Southeast Asia, as well as tapping into its potential.

Finally, 'Click Culture' examines Thailand's iconic cuisine which is taking on a different taste, thanks to the digital revolution. Whether it's Eatigo, a restaurant booking app that offers users time-based discounts, Cookly, the world's largest cooking class platform, or Bug Away Thailand, a drone company that's changing the way farmers tend to their crops, tech companies are digging into the potential of Thailand's food scene. The World Food Travel Association estimates the culinary tourism industry is worth more than $150 billion and in Thailand that means big money for startups.
