IKEA Korea will officially open ‘IKEA Lab’, a pop-up focusing on sustainability, in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul on November 5. With the opening ahead, IKEA Lab was unveiled at a media day on November 4, where its core features were introduced for the first time.

Offering great accessibility for more of the many people, ‘IKEA Lab’ is a pop-up in the heart of Seoul that will be part of IKEA Korea’s long-term aim to drive a sustainable home furnishing movement in Korea, inspiring the many Koreans to start living a better, more sustainable life at home and contribute to a healthier planet. The two-story space has a total area of 914㎡ and will open from 11am to 9pm every day.

Visitors at the IKEA Lab will get a completely new, exclusive experience to IKEA. At the IKEA Shop on the first floor, visitors will be able to purchase a select range of over 60 IKEA home furnishing products for immediate takeaway which include products made of sustainable materials such as bamboo and recycled plastic. IKEA Food Lab offers a range of healthy and tasty food prepared exclusively for the pop-up, such as Swedish meatball panini, veggie balls with reduced carbon footprint and calories, as well as ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certified salmon wrap. In addition, an inspiring pop-up exhibition will showcase the positive impacts of using and buying sustainable materials.

In the Interior Design Office on the second floor, IKEA Korea will pilot the new Interior Design Service reflecting the diverse needs of customers looking to refurnish and remodel a complete home or small business.
