Porsche Korea (Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea Ltd.) announced on the 24th that it opened the first ‘Porsche Dream Circle,’ a new project that reflects the sustainability value pur-sued by the brand, at Pangyo Elementary School in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

As part of Porsche Korea's CSR campaign ‘Porsche Do Dream,’ which marks its fourth year this year, the ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ is a new project that provides a learning space for students in a natural environment, and that informs of the importance of carbon neutrality and the virtuous cycle of resources.

The ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ is a three-way partnership between Porsche Korea, the social welfare foundation, ChildFund Korea, and the social venture company, Tree Planet. With the start of Pangyo Elementary School, Porsche Korea will further expand its support range to Eunjin Ele-mentary School, Jamhyun Elementary School and low-income areas to reduce energy costs in the future.

The opening ceremony of Pangyo Elementary School was attended by Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, Kim Hak-soo, Principal of Pangyo Elementary School, Kim Hyung-soo, Tree Plan-et CEO, and Kim Yoo-sung, the headquarter director of the ChildFund Southern Seoul branch. During the ceremony, the plaque was delivered and a commemorative tree planting took place.

The first ‘Porsche Dream Circle’, with a total floor area of 250 m², consists of a forest space with various trees planted plus solar tree panels. With solar energy obtained from the solar tree, the smart forest system will be applied for the first time in Korea, enabling automatic irrigation and management by measuring tree conditions such as forest temperature and humidity, as well as charging of electric devices.

"We are very pleased to be able to introduce a new meaningful social contribution program that is consistent with the brand's core value, sustainability. I hope that the Porsche Dream Circle will go beyond a simple learning space and open up a new chapter in students’ lives, helping them to live in harmony with nature, increase their environmental awareness and to gain an interest in how modern technology and sustainability can go hand in hand.” said Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea.

Meanwhile, Porsche Korea launched the Porsche Do Dream Campaign in 2017 and has been expanding the scope of support every year. In addition to the 'Porsche Dream Play Ground,' a project to build an indoor gymnasium, and 'Porsche Dream Up,' a project to support children in various fields of art, music, and physical education, as well as the newly introduced 'Porsche Dream Circle', Porsche Korea contributed a total of 1.149 billion KRW.
