Link Labs, the leading end-to-end IoT platform for tagging, locating and monitoring equipment, supplies and assets, today announced its partnership with Wirepas, a company on a mission to democratize IoT. Through this partnership, Wirepas Massive, a unique connectivity software suite built for the large-scale IoT needs of industries, enables Link Labs flagship product, Airfinder OnSite, to more effectively help companies in nearly every industry locate, monitor and manage work-in-process, inventory, equipment, tools, packages, personnel and beyond anywhere at any time – indoors or outdoors.

Asset tracking is an issue plaguing companies of all sizes and industries. By leveraging the power of the Wirepas software connectivity suite and Link Labs’ AirFinder OnSite solution, users now have greater access to asset visibility without compromising connectivity. This solves issues within commercial industries such as network security and consistency. By leveraging a private network, while still maintaining asset location accuracy, users are empowered to never lose sight of their most valuable materials.

Bob Proctor, CEO of Link Labs states, “Link Labs is trusted by clients, including Nordic and AT&T, to provide both the hardware and software necessary to enable enhanced workplace processes surrounding asset tracking and monitoring. This means our solutions need to be scalable, reliable and efficient – from deployment and performance to cost. With Wirepas, we’ve been able to expand our existing solution offering with even more reliable options for our partners and clients alike.”

Founded by a group of engineers from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab,Link Labs’ AirFinder solution was developed to be an affordable IoT asset tracking solution that surpasses UWB and traditional Bluetooth Low Energy applications by using Xtreme Low Energy (XLE) technology. XLE extends battery life by more than 400% and offers a flexible architecture for campus-based environments. Scalable and simple to install, AirFinder improves accuracy as the tag determines location using patented phase-ranging or proximity-based technology at a 90% savings compared to other providers.

AirFinder embeds Wirepas Massive connectivity software suite, the only technology allowing an unlimited number of devices to create a network by themselves, with no need for traditional repeaters as every device becomes a smart router of the network. The self-healing, self-optimizing mesh network can reach unlimited scalability, coverage and density with close to zero infrastructure while using the available 2,4 GHz radio spectrum as efficiently as possible.

“At Wirepas, we build affordable connectivity for large-scale, demanding enterprise IoT needs. Our partnership with Link Labs demonstrates what’s possible when thoughtful solutions meet complex problems. We’re happy to collaborate with Link Labs to continue to bring innovative and efficient IoT solutions for all industries and companies ,” says Teppo Hemiä, CEO of Wirepas.

Wirepas continues to innovate and drive purpose built IoT with the world’s first and only non-cellular 5G connectivity suite for enterprise IoT rolling out this year.
