Tether Games, the world's leading independent developer of skill-based games, today announced that Sara Stapleton has joined its women-led executive team as General Counsel, Chief Business Officer and Secretary. Stapleton most recently served as Vice President Acquisitions and Business Affairs at Zynga where she led investment, partnership and M&A strategy for the social casino team. She will leverage her 20 years of experience in the Silicon Valley among private equity, private and public companies, and venture capital firms in acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, minority investments and structured finance transactions to help further drive Tether Games’ next phase of growth.

Stapleton said, “Tim and Aletheia have built a world-class company in the skill-based gaming market. As more players discover the thrill of competitive play in skill-based gaming, and as more companies look to broaden their reach to users through engaging content, Tether Games is uniquely positioned to serve these audiences with its superior quality head-to-head competition and tournament style games. I look forward to applying my experience in investments, M&A, and scaling high-growth organizations to help take Tether Games to new heights.”

Tim O'Neil, Co-Founder and CEO of Tether Games, said: “This is an exciting time for our business with rapid growth across our catalog of games. I am delighted Sara has joined our team to help us accelerate our growth. Her expertise in investments and M&A within the tech and gaming industries, along with her understanding of how to work closely with Fortune 500 companies in this space make her ideally suited to accelerate our growth during these times of significant growth and change.”

Aletheia O'Neil, Co-Founder and COO of Tether Games, said: “As part of our commitment to continually attract and retain women thought leaders from the games industry, we are pleased to announce that Sara has joined Tether Games. We’re in a unique position, poised for tremendous market growth as more players embrace casual competition on mobile. With the addition of Sara’s expertise to lead our global partnership and investment efforts, we'll further be able to drive the global expansion of our skill-based games.”

Today’s news falls on the heels of Tether Games’ recent growth announcement of achieving $250 million in total gross lifetime revenue for the company in 2021 and taking its total catalog up to 27 titles downloaded by over 30 million players worldwide. Tether Games’ extensive catalog of skill-based games allows players to engage in head-to-head competitions, large multi-entry tournaments and bracket-based tournaments. Players can join multi-round tournaments for the chance to earn cash rewards as well as other prizes, including trophies.
