Ping An Good Doctor's Health Mall Records 310% GMV Growth During Double 11 Shopping Festival

'Paying for Health' Becomes a Consumer Trend This Year


SHANGHAI, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- China's leading one-stop healthcare ecosystem platform, Ping An Good Doctor (the "Company", stock code: 1833.HK), released its sales results from the Double 11 Shopping Festival this year. The results showed that the Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) of the Company's health mall on November 11 increased by 310% year-on-year, and the number of users participating in the Company's Healthy Living promotion increased by 283% year-on-year, reflecting a strong growth momentum.


More and more consumers are buying healthcare products for themselves and their families, showing that paying for health is a consumer trend this year. According to the data from the health mall, nutrition and healthcare products, nourishing foods, and common Chinese and Western medicines are the most popular products for consumers this year. On November 11, the health mall sold 25,000 bottles of vitamin C tablets, which worked out to be the equivalent of 3.5 million oranges. In terms of national health products -- 230,000 packages of goji were sold, which is approximately 9.36 million cups of tea.


Ping An Good Doctor collaborated with more than 100 well-known domestic and overseas brands to upgrade their product services and increase the rebate for customers during its Healthy Living promotion. The promotion included discount coupons and "red packets" to benefit customers. More than 10,000 health products covering a variety of Chinese and Western medicines, nutrition and healthcare, nourishing foods, healthy foods, sports and fitness, medical equipment, maternal and child care, beauty care, household products and other categories were on offer. As for the logistics, thanks to more than 12,000 cooperative pharmacies across the country and the Company's complete logistics system, consumers enjoyed the service of one-hour drug delivery during the promotion.


Mr. Zheng Kai, the brand spokesperson of Ping An Good Doctor, live streamed a health seminar during the promotion. During the one-hour seminar, Mr. Zheng shared his tips on how to keep fit and his personal fitness recipes, as well as picking winners of the "red packets" from the fans who watched the live stream. Over 7 million people tuned in to watch the seminar. The seminar and appearance by a celebrity encouraged more and more consumers to pay attention to their own health and learn about healthcare.


With its in-house medical team of more than a thousand medical personnel and over 5,000 external doctors, Ping An Good Doctor also provided free professional advice on the best ways to use medicines and healthcare products for its users before they made an order. Ping An Good Doctor offered free healthcare advice to more than 800,000 people on November 11, which is equivalent to the average daily outpatient volume of 200 Class III Grade A hospitals.
