Hong Kong, Jan. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- To commemorate Masters of Abstraction presented by The Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation and Peter Badge, Innovative Business Foundation organized Masters of Abstraction Gala Dinner and Scientific Programme on 17 and 18 January 2019 in Hong Kong. Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office of HKSAR Government is the honorary supporting organization of this event.
Masters of Abstraction Gala Dinner
The gala dinner hosted at Conrad Hong Kong was officiated by Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Mrs Carrie Lam, GBM, GBS. Guests celebrated academic achievements of frontrunners in computing science and mathematics and pinpointed Hong Kong's unique advantage in attracting talent from all over the world.
Renowned Laureate Photographer - Mr. Peter Badge and Chairman of Innovative Business Foundation - Mr. Michael Ong talked about their collaboration experience, and Mr. Michael Ong said "Innovative Business Foundation is proud to be the organizer of this gala dinner and scientific program, IBF aims to facilitate science and culture exchange and connecting Hong Kong to the world." Mr. Peter Badge expressed, "It was a memorable and treasured experience to take portraits of the distinguished laureates!"
Chief Executive of HKSAR Mrs Carrie Lam mentioned in her opening speech that Hong Kong has implemented many initiatives to attract and nurture talent, and look forward to mutually rewarding relationship between Hong Kong and the Heidelberg Laureate Forum.

Masters of Abstraction Scientific Programme
The Masters of Abstraction Scientific Programme was held on 18 January 2019 at Ngan Pui Ying Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Anchored on the theme of "How AI and Big Data are Driving Innovation?" five distinguished Laureates shared their wisdom with over 200 young Hong Kong scientists and students to foster new innovative ideas, and to create a better future for the next generation.
The programme kicked off by opening speech by Chairman of Innovative Business Foundation - Mr. Michael Ong, Associate Vice President (Research Support) of PolyU - Prof. Guohua Chen, Associate Vice President (Research Support), Managing Director of Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation - Ms. Ruth Wetzlar and Chairman of STEM Education Alliance - Dr. Cheung Chak Chun. The event received overwhelming response from aspiring students.
