LG and the Step Challenge Association launch the ‘Kao Ta Jai 10K Thailand Championship 2024 Presented by LG’

LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Step Challenge Association, Department of Health, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Athletics Association of Thailand, and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), organized the ‘Kao Ta Jai 10K Thailand Championship 2024 Presented by LG,’ a major marathon competition held at Sanam Luang in the heart of Bangkok. Attracting over 7,000 Thai and international runners, the event aimed to foster strong physical and mental health, aligning with LG's ‘Life's Good.’ commitment.

Mr. Sunghun Jung, President of LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated, "The 'Kao Ta Jai 10K Thailand Championship 2024 Presented by LG' marks LG's inaugural participation as an official sponsor. Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, gave an opening speech at the ‘Kao Ta Jai 10K Thailand Championship 2024 Presented by LG’ event: "This event has garnered significant interest from health enthusiasts, with over 7,000 participants. It reflects the growing awareness among Thai people about taking care of their health. If more people in Thailand maintain good health, our national healthcare system will continue to improve. As a representative of Thailand's public health sector, I am delighted to see such an impactful event that encourages Thais to prioritize their own health and the well-being of their loved ones."

Dr. Pongthep Wongwatcharapaiboon, M.D., Director of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, stated, "This event was designed to inspire and encourage Thai people to engage in more physical activity and exercise. Increased physical activity can reduce healthcare costs, lessen the burden on medical personnel, and lower the risk factors for chronic diseases. This event provides these benefits to people with maximum efficiency."

 
According to this year competition results, Mr. Fekadu Deresa Degefa from Etiopia won the first position of overall-male runner competition (31:12). Meanwhile, the first runner-up was Mr. Bililign Yimer from Ethiopia (31:13) and Mr. Alexander Njai Muhia from Kenya was the second runner-up of the competition (31:14).

For the overall-female runner program, Miss Serkalem Mekonnen from Ethiopia won the first position (35:14), followed by the first runner-up, Miss Alemtsehay Adbaru from Ethiopia (36:25) and the second runner-up, Miss Soraya Tawong from Thailand (39:43).

For the best performance from Thai runners, Mr. Wichaya Saechang won 10K Thai male runner competition (35:23), while the 10K Thai female runner competition champion was Miss Soraya Tawong (39:43).

‘Kao Ta Jai 10K Thailand Championship 2024 Presented by LG’ has set a new benchmark for an international competition event. Supported by the Athletics Association of Thailand, the event focuses on ensuring a safe race route, certified distances, and official statistics of the running results for all runners. In addition, the event aims to raise the running competition standard to reach an international level, while also promoting the Kao Ta Jai project and the Step Challenge Association to be more well-known in Thailand and encouraging more people to participate in this event.
