Porsche Korea (CEO Holger Gerrmann), in collaboration with ChildFund Korea (CEO Sohn Byung-deuk), announced the successful conclusion of the 'Porsche Turbo for Dreams - Ballet' program, following a two-week overseas training in the ballet world renown city of Stuttgart, Germany.
‘Porsche Turbo for Dreams’ is a new project as part of the ‘Porsche Do Dream’ social contribution campaign. It is a development program that is designed to provide talented children with oppor-tunities not only to enhance their individual capabilities but also to broaden their perspectives supporting their dreams and passion. The Ballet-program was specifically created to offer inter-national training opportunities to talented ballet students from underprivileged backgrounds and those majoring in ballet and Porsche Koreas first time of a cultural program reaching beyond Korea.
In June, Porsche Korea, together with ChildFund Korea and Dance Planner, selected 15 ballet majors ranging from 5th grade elementary students to high school sophomores. A mentoring program was conducted prior to their departure.
To nurture global minded talents, the overseas ballet camp, held from July 8 for two weeks, in-cluded master classes by Stuttgart-based dancers and contemporary dance companies, men-toring by professional dancers, cultural experiences, profile photoshoots at the Porsche Museum, and a guided tour of the Stuttgart Ballet's John Cranko School. The 15 participants showcased their skills and teamwork through performances of 'Don Quixote Kitri Solo,' 'Esmeralda Solo,' and contemporary dance ensembles.
At the Theaterhaus Stuttgart in Germany, Porsche Korea CEO Holger Gerrmann personally at-tended the performance and delivered a message of encouragement to the camp participants. Porsche Korea CEO Holger Gerrmann remarked, “Through the Korean ballet student’s perfor-mance the audience in Stuttgart, the hometown of world class ballet and Porsche, could feel the excitement and positive energy of this international cultural exchange.” He added, “With Porsche Turbo for Dreams we want to help young talents on their way to fulfil their dreams and today they not only created memories that will shape their future, but it was an inspiration for everyone witnessing the result of their remarkable journey."
Additional to ‘Porsche Turbo for Dreams', Porsche Korea is currently providing scholarships through the 'Porsche Dream Up' program, aimed at supporting future generations including those talented in arts and sports, and job-seeking students with low income.
