Porsche Korea (CEO Mathias Busse) announced the opening of ‘Porsche Dream Playground’ at two additional schools.
Entering its 7th year, the ‘Porsche Dream Playground’ is a key project of Porsche Korea's CSR campaign, ‘Porsche Do Dream’, that constructs indoor gymnasiums for students to grow healthy and enhance their creativity by engaging in various physical activities.
This year, Porsche Korea donated 160 million KRW to two schools, Dong Gwang Elementary School and the Kindergarten of Donam Elementary School, to complete the Porsche Dream Playgrounds at a total of 16 schools nationwide.
Following last year, the children and teachers at each school conducted workshops to share ideas on the spatial design of the Dream Playground. They also made contribution to Porsche’s sustainability effort through facilities and toys made of upcycled materials.
The Dream Playground at Dong Gwang Elementary School was designed to improve the lack of play areas for lower grade students, encouraging them to freely release their physical energy through climbing structures, slides, and mesh tunnels. It also includes a secret cave for small group team play and a magnetic play wall adopting the drawings that the children had drawn themselves.
Additionally, furniture that had been discarded in the school were upcycled to create rest areas, along with balls made of upcycled fabric to help students naturally learn about the value of sustainable resources through playing.
The Dream Playground at the Kindergarten of Donam Elementary School overcame space constraints by designing multi-level structures, with a special focus on major muscle development. A multi-play gym consisted of climbing walls, maze, and jungle gyms, along with an indoor zipline enable dynamic activities and physical development.
The playground also provides ecofriendly learning spaces by offering a variety of upcycled toys made of discarded fabric, plastic, and old banners.
Mathias Busse, CEO of Porsche Korea, said, “For the past seven years, Porsche Korea has ceaselessly worked through the ‘Porsche Dream Playground’ to further enhance the health and happiness of children, who will shape the future.” He also stated, “With various play facilities to nurture the independence and creativity of children, we hope the Dream Playground will become a place where children can explore their limitless ‘Dreams’ and potential.
Additional to ‘Porsche Dream Playground’, Porsche Korea, in collaboration with ChildFund Korea, also supports various initiatives such as ‘Porsche Dream Up’ for child talent development, ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ to create green spaces in schools, and ‘Porsche Dream Smart Eye’ for traffic-safe school commutes. Over the past seven years, Porsche Korea has donated a total of 7.63 billion KRW through the ‘Do Dream’ campaign.
