Porsche Korea (CEO Mathias Busse) announced the opening of ‘Porsche Dream Smart Eye’, a smart traffic safety solution for safe school commute routes, at two additional schools.

Entering its 3rd year, the ‘Porsche Dream Smart Eye’ aims to improve child traffic safety as part of Porsche Korea's CSR campaign, ‘Porsche Do Dream’. The project involves installing devices that detect and audiovisually warns of hazards within school zones to prevent traffic accidents, therefore creates a safe commute environment for children.

In collaboration with the children’s welfare organization ChildFund Korea and the domestic smart traffic safety solution company Hantech, Porsche Korea installed ‘Dream Smart Eye’ at Sinbong Elementary School and Jeonggyo Elementary School.

With the addition of two schools this year, a total of seven schools have now been introduced ‘Dream Smart Eye’. Through this initiative, it is expected to significantly contribute to preventing child traffic accidents while also enhancing driver awareness of safe driving practices.

At Sinbong Elementary School, a ‘Safe Zone Smart Eye’ will be installed, allowing students to check nearby road traffics in advance without having to step outside the main gate. When a vehicle enters the detection range, a monitor streaming real-time road conditions provide warnings through both visual alerts on the screen and auditory alerts through speakers. This is particularly effective in roads with limited visibility, helping to ensure safety for both drivers and children.

Considering the numerous speeding vehicles and drivers who do not stop at the stop line, the Jeonggyo Elementary School has been introduced a specially designed system. When a go straight signal is on, it encourages drivers to slow down by displaying their current speed. When the stop signal is on, any vehicles that make rolling stops are shown on the screen and highlighted with flashing warnings to alert about the potential dangers. Additionally, when no vehicles are present, the system displays traffic safety messages.

Porsche Korea CEO Mathias Busse stated, “To address the various risks prevalent in school zones, it is necessary to adopt innovative technological solutions.” He also added, “Porsche Korea will continue to strive toward providing children with the safe environment and support for them to focus on their learning and dream big.”

In addition to 'Dream Smart Eye’, Porsche Korea continues various comprehensive programs with ChildFund Korea such as 'Porsche Dream Up’ to support talented children, ‘Porsche Dream Playground’ to build indoor gyms, and 'Porsche Dream Circle’ to create environmentally friendly spaces within schools.
