On May 2, Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park held a press conference celebrating its opening, ahead of its official opening on May 11, 2018. Courtyard is one of Marriott International's select brands and operates more than 1,100 hotels worldwide, the largest number of Marriott International's 30 brands. Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park is the 4th Courtyard Hotel in Korea following Yeongdeungpo, Pangyo and Namdaemun. Shin In-kyoung, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park declared, "We are delighted to present the Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park, the first Marriott International hotel in Gangseo-gu. Our hotel is a differentiated hotel that is hard to find in Seoul city where you can enjoy nature and the city center at the same time. We will make Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park a 'Korea's best business hotel' through the rest of nature and the best service in the future." The hotel, located in the Magok district of Gangseo-gu, was designed as a place where you can fully feel the essence of nature in harmony with the name of the hotel. Inspired by the straight lines of straight trees, the hotel not only emphasizes the overall feeling of nature, but also features a simple design. It has 12 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. It has 262 rooms including 20 suites. All rooms have ultra high-definition UHD 55 inch TV, high-speed wireless internet and sofa bed. Most of the rooms boast panoramic views of the city through the front glass window, which cannot be seen in the hotels of Seoul city, as it can overlook the 'Seoul Botanic Park' (planned to open in the second half of 18), about 500,000 square meters. Courtyard by Marriott Botanic Park has two dining outlets in total. 'Garden Kitchen', an all-day dining restaurant located on the ground floor, offers an international buffet with a focus on western and Asian menus and an a la carte menu that enhances Korean cuisine. At the buffet, the menus that take advantage of the traditionality of each region/country, such as grilled ribeye of Western food, and Hong Kong/Cantonese-style Buddha Jumps Over the Wall of Chinese food. In the a la carte menu, there are Trenella fuciformis Galbitang, beef Ttukbaegi, and Pu Pad Pong curry, all of which are filled with time and sincerity of a head chef. The two private dining rooms are the perfect place to enjoy family gatherings and small meetings. 'The Lounge', which is connected to the garden kitchen, offers a range of liquor and snack menus including signature cocktails from the hotel. A total of 12 banquet halls, including the 218-square-meter Forest Ballroom, are available for corporate and family events for a variety of purposes ranging from conferences, weddings to family party. Virgin Hotels Announces First Washington D.C. Property
Virgin Hotels has announced plans to open and operate a new hotel in Washington D.C. Expected to open in fall 2019, the brand's first Washington D.C. property will reside in the city's emerging Union Market area. It will be managed by Virgin Hotels and developed by D.B. Lee Development & Construction and Brook Rose Development. Virgin Hotels Washington D.C. Union Market will feature 178 Chambers and Grand Chamber Suites; multiple dining and drinking outlets, including the brand's flagship space, Commons Club; a coffee shop, panoramic rooftop lounge with an infinity pool, as well as multiple meetings and events spaces.
