FIFA diversifies its gaming rights and launches new non-sim football games alongside EA SPORTS franchise
For the first time, FIFA will launch new football video games developed with third-party studios and publishers, providing more choice for football and gaming fans in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™. A number of new non-simulation games are already under production and will launch during the third quarter of this year. The first is a tailored gaming experience featuring the biggest event on earth, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will bring new, interactive experiences to fans across the globe. Following this initial unveiling, FIFA will launch further games and virtual experiences around this year’s FIFA World Cup. Additional projects are also under discussion with publishers ahead of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™. Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, said: "I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans. The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on - the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST." “The interactive gaming and esports sector is on a path of unrivalled growth and diversification. FIFA’s strategy is to ensure we can make the most of all future options and ensure a wide range of products and opportunities for gamers, fans, member associations and partners.” Alongside the new games, FIFA has granted a new short-term extension to existing publisher EA SPORTS to launch a new FIFA 23 title later this year, which will feature the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup competitions in one edition for the first time. The recently confirmed extension with EA SPORTS is a new arrangement that grants rights for the simulation football category only, freeing up broader gaming rights for FIFA and different gaming publishers to launch new games and more deeply immersive experiences for fans and football stakeholders. This new, non-exclusive licensing model follows on from an extended period of discussions between the parties relating to FIFA’s future gaming vision. As announced in October 2021, FIFA intends to work with a range of partners rather than lock up all gaming and esports rights exclusively with one publisher for the long term. As well as launching a portfolio of new games during 2022 and 2023, FIFA is currently engaging with leading game publishers, media companies and investors in regard to the development of a major new FIFA simulation football game title for 2024. FIFA’s new gaming model has been developed in parallel with FIFA+, the recently launched direct-to-consumer media platform.

Kakao Games Opens up Dysterra for Global Beta
Kakao Games and developer Reality MagiQ has announced its upcoming multiplayer sci-fi shooter Dysterra will be open to players for an upcoming global beta test this May. Running between May 4-17, players will be able to participate in the multiplayer beta via Dysterra’s official Steam page — simply by clicking the ‘Request Access’ button. Dysterra is an online multiplayer game, mixing solid first-person shooting with sophisticated survival and crafting elements, in a distinct dystopian world; following the Terrafire — an enormous pillar of fire that erupted after humans began mining the Earth’s core. Players have to fight to survive as the planet’s final days ebb away. During the global beta test, they will engage in ferocious battles with a mixture of melee weapons and firearms. While the more taxing crafting requirements (lowering the entry barrier for shelter construction, etc) have been modified to accommodate the game’s beta period, with Kakao Games and developer Reality MagiQ wanting participation to maximize the interaction between players. There will also be more of a focus on acquiring special skills through relentless combat and base occupation. After feedback from the game’s followers — collated from previous gameplay tests — the expectation is that players will find more hit satisfaction, an upgraded UI, and greater development of motion-capture animations.

KONAMI REVEALS NEW PvP MULTIPLAYER MYSTERY SIMULATION GAME ‘CRIMESIGHT’ TO RELEASE APRIL 14TH
Konami Digital Entertainment Limited today formally revealed and announced the launch date for new PvP multiplayer mystery simulation game CRIMESIGHT. Following a successful closed-beta test last year, CRIMESIGHT will be launching on Steam® on April 14th 2022* from USD$ 19.99 SRP. Ahead of launch, KONAMI will be hosting a free demo weekend for users to play CRIMESIGHT. Players can register to trial CRIMESIGHT between March 25 – April 7 22:59. Details on how to register can be found on the official website: https://forms.konami.net/crimesight/pre_launch/ The demo weekend schedule will be as follows: • 04/10 18:00-22:59 (GMT+8) STEAM® PAGE – https://store.steampowered.com/app/1491710/CRIMESIGHT/ London, 2075. A cutting-edge predictive system called Foresight AI is developed to predict future crimes based on network data. As a result, crime is reduced by 90% worldwide. However, the system soon predicts an unavoidable incident, one that could steer the world on the path to ruin. Fearing the worst, Foresight AI's developers craft a new artificial intelligence that can track down and solve the most heinous of crimes before they occur. They dub this AI "Sherlock", after the peerless detective of classic literature. As it works on several cases, Sherlock discovers a harrowing truth: Sitting at the center of these cases like a spider on a web is Moriarty, an AI that rivals Sherlock's capabilities. CRIMESIGHT pits players against one another as one assumes the role of the "villain", who carries out a murder, and another becomes the "target", the villain's future victim. The player on the Moriarty side must fulfill objectives to complete their crime, whilst the players on the Sherlock side must prevent it from happening. Over the course of a match, the villain and the target will slowly come to light. Which side will you take? CRIMESIGHT will be available globally and will support 11 languages –English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish (Spain – Spanish) and Portuguese (Brazil-Portuguese). Space Invaders Cubed Coming on The WOWCube (R) Platform
Cubios Inc., the creator of the WOWCube ® entertainment system, and TAITO CORPORATION (TAITO), the creator of the SPACE INVADERS video game, signed a license agreement. It gives Cubios Inc. a license to use all trademarks, copyrights, themes, gameplay, images, audio clips associated with one of the most well-known and lovable video games in the world — the SPACE INVADERS. And the Cubios’ team immediately started to create the SPACE INVADERS CUBED, a new version of the video game exclusively available on the WOWCube® entertainment system. Katsuhiko Iwaki, President and Representative Director, TAITO CORPORATION comments: "We are happy to partner with Cubios Inc. and think that WOWCube is a unique device that could be the next big thing. We're sure that SPACE INVADERS CUBED will find a lot of fans". The WOWCube ® entertainment system is a one-of-a-kind device in the shape of a cube made of 8 connected cubic modules. Each module is a separate device, with three high-resolution screens and a CPU inside. In the coming summer, the company will start a pre-order campaign and ship the devices to the first buyers throughout the end of this year. At the moment, Cubios Inc. is working on more than 30 different games, including arcade games, puzzles, logic and strategy games, educational apps with gamification, and many more for casual and more skillful players of all ages. The WOWCube ® entertainment system will be delivered with several games pre-installed, and a sure hit among them will be the SPACE INVADERS CUBED. Ilya Osipov, the president and a founder of Cubios Inc., comments: "I’m a huge fan of the SPACE INVADERS arcade game. It was one of the first games I played when I was the age of my son. I love everything about it — the graphics, sounds, entertainment, and absorbing gameplay. Our unique WOWCube ® device along with this fascinating game with a long history of success is a winning combo. I'm very sure that our users will appreciate playing this arcade game with its nostalgic charm and the new interpretation on their futuristic devices, and enjoy hours of fun and entertainment." Game development for the cube is a sophisticated process as the device has unique 3D geometry and hardware. Each game made for the WOWCube ® entertainment system, even a familiar one, adds a new dimension of perception towards the gameplay, and makes it even more fun and rewarding to progress level by level. In the original version of the SPACE INVADERS, a user must destroy the enemy Invaders avoiding enemy fire by controlling their own ship. With the SPACE INVADERS CUBED version, the playing field is all over the cube, on all six sides of the device. The player interacts with the game by turning and tilting the cube. The user's ship is moving following the position of the built-in accelerometer and gyroscope. When the spacecraft is right opposite to the enemy, it starts to shoot automatically. By turning the cube, the user acquires the power to send an Invader's ship to a remote corner of the universe many parsecs away. And when the player is ready, they can bring their spacecraft to that place and deal with the Invader. In this way, the player can split the enemy's fleet and shoot the Invaders one by one. The cubed version of SPACE INVADERS may involve the user's strategic thinking and cognitive skills, making the gaming process more absorbing and rewarding.
