After making their TC America debut earlier this season at VIR, this will mark New German Performance's second event in the TC America racing series. The oil and additive specialist LIQUI MOLY is partner for the race weekend.
The pair of Audi RS 3 LMS race cars will once again be driven by Tristan Herbert and Vinnie Lima with the cars prepared by New German Performance's specialized staff at their Manassas Park, Virginia facility. Herbert coming off the back of a podium finish at VIR said “It's funny, out of all the tracks I've been to over the years I've never actually been to Indy. When SRO made the announcement last year to move the 8hr from Laguna Seca to Indy I was excited to finally go there but I never imagined I would get the opportunity to race there! I'm looking forward to it and grateful to once again pilot the Audi RS 3 LMS at such a historic circuit.”
After showing speed in his first ever professional motorsport event at VIR, Lima is upbeat by the upcoming IMS event “What can one say about IMS and the opportunity to drive competitively at the “Brickyard”? This will be a bucket list opportunity to race in a place with such deep legacy. Together with Audi Sport Customer Racing and New German Performance, one can only dream about the opportunity to drive the Audit RS3 LMS in a place where one of my personal motorsport heroes, Rubens Barrichello, has driven.”
LIQUI MOLY enjoys a strong presence in motorsports. On national level the oil and additive manufacturer partners with Turner Motorsports in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and is sponsor of the MotoAmerica series. On international level the brand can be seen in Formula 1 and in MotoGP.
On-track action for the event in Indianapolis, IN begins on Thursday, October 1st with TC America qualifying, then 40-minute sprint races on Friday, October 2nd (9:20 am ET) and Saturday, October 3rd (11:10 am ET).
